They could have paid me 1/2 that, and I'd tell them it is a really bad idea. (and I haven't even been to Mexico since I was about 6)

It seems to me that if someone is stupid enough to "visit" a Mexican prostitute, they are too stupid to be influenced by the study. Of course, the stupidest of all is our congress for allowing this idiotic thing. (I wonder: 1. What was the payoff to congressmen in return for their support?
2. How much will friends of the congressmen "earn" for conducting the study?)

When you pay money to the government in the form of taxes, you have pretty much agreed to have them spend it the way they see fit. So, it's no longer your's or mine. It's government's, supposedly to be spent for our good. What I wonder is, you gripe about an insignificant 3 million but never a peep about the trillions wasted on other things like Bush/Chaney wars that we still can't get out of. Or billions spent buying "friends", while our infrastructure is rotting, or trying to cut Social Security to beef up military budget. Or the fact that Congress accomplished squat for the last half a dozen years.
How about griping about things that really matter?

True, americans are not speaking up except for in this forum or instead of speaking up are leaving the forum. Goody.

How about the one that sticks in my mind.

$500,000.00 to study the flight characteristics of a frisbie!!!!

Piddly amount right? What about the rest we don't hear about?

I'm sorry, lovesphotos. I was just commenting about one incident of government waste that was on the radio today.

Of course, there are larger wastes of tax money; way too many to mention in this post. These wastes have been implemented under every administration. I'm against them all, not just this one.

Please MisterWilson, even though I realize it sounded that way, I wasn't criticizing you. You brought up a subject and I was reacting to that. I know we all are concerned about the government waste and even if it was a dollar, waste is waste.
I sincerely hope I didn't offend you with my tirade. I also like to point out, sometimes what we perceive as waste, is not waste at all.

Sarge69, Like everyone else, I too dislike government waste, but in all honesty, I am not sure the study you have mentioned can be construed as waste. If we didn't have studies on the mechanics of flight, we maybe still flying a kite and riding the wagon to the neighboring state. Besides, how else we'll learn how to build a flying saucer?

Ya, but a flying saucer based on a frisbie is going to take a helluva big guy to launch it.

I heard a rumor the other day, not sure if it's true, but I heard that Anthony Weiner is running for President in 2016, and he wants Eric Holder to be his running mate. It would be grand, they'll call it the Weinier Holder ticket!

Can you believe those dirt bags actually asking to be re-elected or elected to a public office. And you know what ? The liberal followers are going to do it.
