Ive been diapointed not seeing any hummers yet this year. And low and bahold I looked out the kitchen window this evening and theres one at my feeder. I rushed to get my cramera and when I got back he was gone. At least now I know their back.

Hal81 that is exactly how it happened for me, none for the longest time then one then two now I have a host of daily visitors! I look forward to seeing your captures!
Nice work, they are very elusive this year. I've had a hard time, they fly away just when I'm ready to click!

Yes they sure do tend to do that! I sit out there for awhile before I manage to get a shot. Thank you for sharing, glad you got a few shots of the elusive lil guys!

The photo affixed to this post is a Ruby Throated Hummer (female I suspect) and in fact the only Hummer in the north eastern part of North America. If you, in MD have a different Hummer it is a TOURIST.

Nice shots RE, it's nice when they hold still for a couple of seconds. I'm working on when they are moving. This hummer comes to my feeder occasionally. I was hoping more would come but they don't.

Nice shot Puglover, thanks so much for sharing it! I have desperately been trying to get a shot of two of them together when they dive bomb each other. I have not had much luck! LOL Here are the only two captures I have managed, what can I say they are speedy!

Thank you Sue, those were delightful! I have a friend who gets swarms of them but I can never get more than one at a time as they chase each other off. I know they are protecting their nectar spot but I'd love it if they'd share! LOL!
This little guy showed up last night.
