Challenge Wednesday 7/24- Friday 7/26. Creative Cropping
Sher
Loc: Colorful Colorado
When I am shooting, I look through the viewfinder and try to compose a shot that I think will be pleasing. Sometimes, after downloading it to my computer I will find that I need to tweek it a little bit because there is something distracting, it isnt centered the way that I want it, or I might see how I can make it more appealing with just a little crop.....
This challenge we will take a shot, post that original shot, and then try to make it a more appealing shot with a little different crop. Post 2 or 3 different crops of the one shot you took and let us know which one you prefer and why....
Cricket is my cohost. I will be in and out tomorrow and between the both of us we will be looking in and commenting.........
Barn, straight from camera
1st cropping
2nd cropping. I think I like this one best. I originally thought I wanted more of the landscaping in the shot and decided I like it better with more of the focus on the barn

Interesting thread, here is my rendition.
Original photo

Sunrise with sunstar that I wanted to highlight
Great start . . Here are a couple of mine from the Fayre I attended over the past weekend. The falconry display was excellent - but I did not get any of the flying birds!

Really nice! The final crop retained detail and is crisp! Sometimes with my stuff I have to give up because the focus point deteriorates . That's when I say naughty words-at least in my head... :XD:
I like this one.......YES.
I often use cropping to help me verify the identification of a species. My first photo captured a Yellow bellied Sapsucker high up on power lines. I had seldom seen yellow on a yellow bellied sapsucker and I thought I saw a faint glimpse of yellow on this distance bird!
And voila, a closer crop, yes!, did indeed reveal a pale yellow band surrounding the black bib on this male Sapsucker.
