Interesting video on computer file management and, interestingly, how a photographer used recovered "deleted" picture files from her previously stolen computer to create a gallery exhibition.

Even after deleting the files from the trash can, one is able to recover them.

Sometimes and maybe... as the video describes, only if the original file locations have not been disturbed and/or overwritten.

The program CCleaner offers a wipe of free disk space that is supposedly the equal of the NSA.

I've noticed that Arlington Camera will recover photos for a fee. Better to have a good backup.
