bratz4us, Does the T3 have the Sports Setting like the
T3i does. If so this will do fast action for you. mdh

There's some tips and guides for sports photos in the internet.

Bratz, I just created a new post called Canon t3i in Sports mode, because for some reason I couldn't locate your original post. I added a few pics taken in Sports mode, as well as how they were taken. Hope it helps. Good luck!

If you can't help and have no useful opinion why did you respond?

Are these indoor or outdoor pictures? Do you know which lens you are using? Is it the EFs 18-55mm that usually comes with this camera? Do you know the shooting mode you were using? The mode dial indicates the shooting mode. If the photos were taken indoors, did you use the flash? Also look on the lens to make sure the stabilizer switch is set to on. We need a lot more information from you about the lighting, the location, the camera settings, etc. before we can help you sort it out. It sounds like you were taking the photos indoors and the shutter speed was too slow, but we need the big picture.

That's it!

Also, when you have time read the manual. I know it is imposing and seems confusing but just sit and read it with the camera in your hand and try some stuff. You can always go back to factory settings.

I would urge you to go to camera.sim and play with the simulation it is easy and fun and you will even learn something.

have fun

Sports mode won't help if the photos were taken indoors in less than good light.

If I remember correctly, the T3 does not have a moveable screen like the T3i.

You might want to consider a supplemental instruction manual such as a David Busch Guide. I have a number of them. They're a lot easier to follow than the factory manual.

http://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Compact-Field-ebook/dp/B00B7RFEJW/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1374682001&sr=1-3&keywords=canon+t3

Also, you should probably be shooting in shutter priority mode at the fastest speed you can go with and still maintain an aperture that gives you enough depth of field to bring out the detail.

Finally, you may also want to consider the purchase of a flash unit that's more powerful than the built-in unit. I use Canon Speedlites but there are others.
