I have the canon sx50-i have heard about using filters and lenses for it and while shopping on Amazon specifically for the sx50, became quite confused with all the options. Each "package" comes with adaptor rings but are in different sizes, none say step down ring. None say if they(lens/filters) are made of plastic or glass. I even went to the canon website adding to my addled state of mind.
I know the vivitar name but never heard of zeikos.
I would appreciate any and all opinions. I am on a budget and thought the kits on amazon would satisfy my current needs. I just want to get the most reliable, most clear and best bet for my $.
Thank You

Vivitar was a good company back in the 70s, but now not as good. Better off getting a Tiffen, Hoya or B&W multi coated filters.
Thank you for your advice bioteacher, I will check them out. are you familiar with a good site on which to buy? I see ads for B&H in NYC, do you know if it is a good site?
B&H or Adorama. I usually check both out for the cheapest prices and free shipping. Hoya and BW are better filters and more expensive. You also need an adapter to put the filters on. Canon sells one that you can get from B&H/Adorama or you can get a cheaper version from Amazon. You can also see how much Amazon charges for the filters.
bioteacher-
a belated Thank you for the advice.
