Army recruitment

With military recruitment proving difficult, the rules were relaxed and group of Cannibals were allowed joined the Army.
The CO welcomed them to the unit "Lovely to have you chaps here with us, just do me a favour and don't eat anyone"
The weeks went and everything seemed to go well, until one day, the CO popped in to talk to the chief.
"Um, just checking, but we seem to be missing a Corporal. You wouldn't know anything about that would you?"
The head of the Cannibal group said that he had not seen the Corporal anywhere, but would certainly look out for him.
After the CO left the Chief got all the others together.
"Right who ate the Corporal? Come on, I know one of you did!!!"
One of the cannibals at the rear of the group held his hand up, guiltily.
"You idiot..." exploded the Chief.
"For month we have been eating Officers and no one noticed, then you had to go and eat someone useful!"
