Hypothetical question
A couple Calculate their position as upper-middle-class
On the eligibility form it states a net income for a couple over 65 with an income of $35,000 a year
That does not include gross income or assets this is after-taxes
The couple of living comfortably really in no want for anything and happy. Upon calculating their eligibility they find a borderline possibly get $350 a month supplemental income.
They really don't need the additional money because they have enough
now here's my question
Are they honest and honorable for not applying to take the additional money or are they fools for not taking "They're entitlement "
Some "honest and honorable" people would apply for the money.
Some equally "honest and honorable" people would not apply for the money.
There are so many extenuating circumstances that could affect either decision.
I do not leave room for extenuating circumstances They can speak for themselves . The question remains an i fool or not
There are also a lot of people who feel they " they getting over" What about them ?
Sorry, I can't help answer your questions.
It's a question of responsibility and self-reliance and not just take whatever I can get Regardless

The fools are the voters electing the politicians that create government programs that benefit other than those in need.
It should be expected that people will take advantage of any situation offered by a government that taxes every aspect of their lives. 8-)
To say it should be expected is a symptom of our society's moral decline. There was a time when self-respect ruled So he is a fool ?

No matter what his choice I would not consider him a fool. I believe the "fools" are who I have bold-faced on the post above. 8-)

Damned if I do and damn if I don't... eh? I recieve $1,178 a month but I can not buy meats. The price of meats are too high. I do not get food stamps, don't know if I qualify.
Why focus on food stamps. Fraud is perpetrated at every level of our society from Wall Street to Main St.
It is pervasive and isn't going to end.
Well get this - guess who lobbied the most to get the Great Society crap passed in Congress? Hint - back then the Draft was still on - and the Penisgone - I mean Pentagon was dealing with an issue of training kids that were "near" a state of malnourished conditions. And since the poor and malnourished get to always be a part of the redistribution of freedumb - I mean freedom - turns out a lot of Generals wanted something done about it. Seems healthy well fed redistributers of freedom are easier to train during basic training. Especially, draftees from the Southern Red Neck States - they seemed to have had an extra special dose of redistribution of freedumb - I mean freedom. Any way come Judgement Day - I will get to testify to God that even after the end of the draft when I enlisted for 6 of the stupidest years of my life - I witnessed first hand recruits from the poor sectors of life were indeed weaker than those of us like myself who came from a well provided side of society. It was as if I were some kind of athletic God compaired to many of the guys from poor families and/or backgrounds - however, that was only one generation into the mix. So try to think of the welfare system as a patriotic element of our grand military's need for better fed poor folks in their track to redistribute the fleedumb - I mean freedom. Mark also the difference between backgrounds and families. Yep they bring a lot of it on themselves - but this is what happens when a society concludes that it is OK to also redistribute spirituality or in this case the formation of religions such as Tax Temples, Tax Whores, and in General - such an honorable society that sucks it's incomes off the backs of the yet unborn. That alone is going to destroy a lot of families - believe it or not. It's just more of the same Crapitalism - bonded in Slaves, Lies and Debt. - Oh I mean Capitalism, or any other name to abid an "ism." Yep this is the Greatest Nation on Earth - and all the greatest nations on Earth that ever were - have done the same - and they have all fallen - just as God told us - ALL NATIONS SHALL FALL - Amen brother - Aaaaameeen - and the sooner the better - thank you God - the sooner the better. For history has proven - that when these Empires fall - the world and God's people gain a better life. Inching along one empire at the time - and once they are gone then the real leader will return. Amen...

Thomas Jefferson's prediction of our demise as a country was absolutely right.
