Anybody know an easy way to get someones attention at Adobe? My Mac keeps telling me that I need to download some program to be able to view incoming, but I need to give them a password that I do not have, nor did I ever-- I think!

Hi, does it ask for a password? If so, does it not ask if you have forgotten your password! You can then "click" on this, give your email address and it will send you an instruction to change your password. If it says "your email address is not registered/recognised, you will have to attempt to register with Adobe manually. Also, is the programme the Adobe file manager? If it is you can search Google for Adobe's file manager for a Mac. If all this fails, simply Google for "Adobe help centre".
I hope this all makes sense and helps get you sorted.

If you never set one, and it is a local request (ie; your personal settings on your computer requesting the password to launch or install something) perhaps you should try leaving the field blank and hitting return. Or enter your computers password.

BUT FIRST>>>

Make sure it isn't a phishing scam- check the outgoing request address- it will be plainly adobe.com or similar, it will not be a string of numbers, etc.. click on the address and see what comes up in your browser address box... if it does not match the printed address you clicked on- then be careful- do not hit "return". Better yet, cut and paste the headline of the pop up request and simply enter it in google- if it is a phishing scam, you'll see 100's of returns/complaints/fixes/info, if it isn't, and is legit, you may find an answer to what you need and how to get it.

I would probably see what it is asking for, then go myself to Adobe and look for the download. That way you'll know you aren't sending someone a password they should not have.

I took the advice and provided a new password. Received acknowledgement from Adobe that the new password was in force. Attempted to use it to download their program and still received a negative response to the new password. I have had this happen before with other downloads. In the absence of being able to speak to a person/rep exists a problem becomes a frustration. Thanks to all for your information but I remain clueless.

Try setting up a new account with another email address and see if that works! Also ensure you are downloading the MAC version.
