I am new(ish) to taking photos and 'charging' for them... this is my 3rd try at designing a website.... Can you please have a quick look and perhaps tell me what needs to be improved... etc?
I would hate there to be any blatantly obvious mistakes or faux pas ... Thank you in advance :)

Love your eye and creativity, great niche.
As for the website MORE CONTENT, I know, it ill grow in time.
Knowing next to nothing about websites, I see that it is easy to read and negotiate.
Folks with experience will give you better guidance.

As for your work, clearly professional IMHO

Photos are very good. I do not like the auto rotating of the pictures, it gets confusing. Your links at the top should be darker and separated by at least a line. My viewer (mozilla) has them very close together and over each other.

In (Mozilla) the type comes very close/overwrites line on main page
In (internet explorer) the page loads great
In (Avant Browser) the page loads great
In (Safari) the page loads great
In (Google Chrome) the page loads great

All browsers show good color and sizing.

I like that the photos are larger on the main page, but it's kind of like they are completely in my face. Maybe having them a little smaller would be better? Although maybe it's just my monitor since I have a larger one. On the transition, it seems quite abrupt for some of the photos and leaves me feeling a little dizzy for those photos. Is there a way to slow it down just a little? Also where you have your Home, Bio, etc. They aren't all capitalized. I would capitalize them so they stand out a little more and all look uniform. Also I would make your contact information larger it almost gets lost at the top and bottom of the screen. Overall, you have a good eye and some great photos and I hope everything works out well for you.

I think the site is great. Much better than many, many other offerings. My only concern is that I had no clue as to where in the world you are. Not 'til the contact me page.

So perhaps a very small maple leaf or something on the home page.

Otherwise I would leave it as is and allow it to 'gestate' for a while.

It looks good to me. I agree that the transition between photo should be slower.
Great job!

Hi MaggieMay!

Overall, your site looks great. I love that the layout is SO simple, text is limited to only what is needed, and the viewer "gets it" immediately - very intuitive.

That said, here and my nit-picks:

- As Sarge69 said, check your site thoroughly in each of the major browsers; Firefox, Explorer and Chrome - and adjust accordingly. It's a pain, but every webmaster has to do it.

- Too many maternity shots on main page (IMHO). That's a highly specialized area. Suggest replacing half of them with family pics.

- Check your punctuation. You have a lot of sentences starting without capital letters. Correct spelling and punctuation reflect on the professionality of the service.

- Make your bio the last tab - the pictures and your services are more important.

Good luck - you're off to a great start!
