A new 1Dx is giving great images. However, when in post-processing I noticed a different file name than my other Canons use. Is the 1Dx using something other than "img"?

I have 3 Canon bodies and they all have different prefixes and suffixes. Don't worry about it. It's fine.
You're lucky you've got the money for one of the finest camera bodies made.

I have two other Canons, both take img files. The 1 Dx takes FUST files. I first noticed this while scanning images in Aperture3.
I share your values for bode. The last time a piece of equipment had me this excited it was a T-38!

If the FUST files smell funny there is an explanation:
ust\, n. [OF. fust cask, F. f?t cask, taste or smell of the caak, fustiness, cf. sentir le f?t to taste of the cask. See 1st Fust.] A strong, musty smell; mustiness.

Have you read the manual yet? No? You will find the answer in there. I read it through once and am now in the process of going through it again, slower, more studiosly. Is that a word?
I bought mine about a month ago.
You can customize the name using the menu.
Page 156 states that the name you have is unique to your camera and assigned by Canon. Using menu setting "Wrench 1," you can change this to user setting 1 which lets you select four alphanumeric characters. User setting 2 lets you set the first three characters with the fourth representing the file size you select.
A camera with such capabilities and are you assuming that since you used a camera before that you don't need to read the manual?
