Awesome, the telephoto effect of the ramp is cool, the crawler transporter had hydraulics that kept the shuttle totally level as it moved from the assembly building to the pad keeping the nose within the diameter of a basketball. Pretty amazing considering the increase in elevation up to the launch pad, seen in this shot.

Then what? Hope you didn't give it up. I kick myself all over the block---30 years career Aerospace and never carried a camera---even though I ran my own dark room---then we retired to Port Orange and took the time to visit the Cape and witnessed a launch from the break water. The attachments were taken from the front entrance of our residence in P.O.
Note to ggttc: Don't be so sure. Looks like there is going to be a flurry of commercial ventures with an almost gimmee here in Texas near Corpus.

"Ok...now where is Texas?....lol"

That answer is just the reason donkeys are not allowed to go to Texas A&M. Ready? Because no one can stand a smart ass!

Is Nashville still in TN? Reason I ask is I learned the other day that some oil guy, grad of UT, decided Nashville "Was giving Austin too much competition. Offered to buy it and move it, here, to Texas".
8-)

Gone, but a lot of history. I was there before the first launch in 81 and stayed until 93

Um well I gotta admit all the news I get in this little cabin in Tenn is on the net and as of yet Google Chrome has not posted notice that Nashville moved out of Tenn and have no clue that Austin wanted to buy a Shuttle and take it to Texas, if one was going to Texas I would think it would go to Houston

The whole Crawlerway it self was awesome, 13 feet of concrete and then on the final layer, river rock.
