Its not going to matter, the anti-gun folks either hate guns or are afraid of guns and in either case the facts and figures will not change their minds. Theyll only point to the media reports that support their position and claim this report to be a right wing plot. Unless of course it's Peter and he'll just tell us how ignorant we are for believing this report to begin with.

Not a Liberal. I do know that of the 50 most violent cities in the World, none have decent gun control ( I include Chicago).
Not one city from Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia gets in and most are nowhere near.
People who try to kid themselves they're safer with guns just can't read simple facts. Around 10 people per 100000 extra, and up, die every year in countries with inadequate gun control

You have to take their culture into account though. Simply stating the statistics means nothing in & of itself...

I am a pro gun person. Actually I am what they might call, a gun nut. But in all honesty, don't we do the same thing? Don't we all have our pet sources that publish what we want to hear so that whenever our tails get caught in the vise, we point to them as the facts? Facts can always be manipulated, without diluting them unrecognizable, to weigh in on either side of an argument.

I agree. We keep talking without taking into account the homogeneity of the European populations (in general). Also, the ability of the police to control the population in many countries is much greater than in the USA.
You can prove anything with statistics. It just depends on which way you want to bend the rules.
As long as we have the Entertainment Media including TV, Professional Athletes, and Singers who extoll hate and physical violence there will be no end to this.
Chicago. July 4th weekend. Over 70 shot, several dead. Yet not a word in the press. Illinois still has very restrictive gun control laws.

In Obama's hometown of Chicago alone, since the death of Trayvon Martin, there are more than 700 murdered black people, almost all of whom killed by black or Hispanic gangbangers. Obama hasn't mentioned a single one of these deaths, because those lives have no political value other than the errant claim that "gun control" would solve the problem.
For the record, Zimmerman's prosecutors did not mention Florida's "stand your ground" law, perhaps because black defendants in Florida criminal investigations assert "stand your ground" twice as often as whites.

Not the best source of information like this but the article is readable and does make some logiccal points but the finger pointing is not necessary. Not fare to blame NRA 100% with this.
