Zuiko 12-60 mm....

Uhhhh.... How about indicating what camera you are using? Most likely this lens won't fit your camera unless you are shooting Olympus 4/3, but it is a very good and very sharp lens, for now living on my wish-list.

What do you have available? Do you have a local store that rents lenses? Depending on your shooting preferences the lens you like may differ from others. My choice would be my Nikkor 24-70 others may prefer something a little wider like the 10-24. Maybe a trip to your local camera store would be helpful as well.

18-55 mm kit lens should be a good choice for this walk

I made a lot of trips to the beach to do photography and found a good zoom was ideal, I had a Tamron 28-300. There were always a lot of far away subjects that I like to zoom in on. Like waves, things on the beach, I even got the Ferris Wheel operator to stop the wheel while I was on top to take a series of photos, the zoom was essential there; the ocean side is not like a city where buildings prevent distant vistas. The Tamron was not the sharpest zoom lens but it was the best for the price I could afford, nowadays I would research a good zoom, there may be some better ones in a range of prices. DPreview for is one site good for comparing lenses.

Any of those lenses will be fine for street photography. If you choose just one of those lenses it will teach you to "move" into position for the shot instead of being lazy. I'm not saying that "you" are lazy, just that being forced to do what it takes to get the shot makes the brain think more and be more creative. If I had to choose just one, I'd probably take the 55-200 if taking bright daylight street images. If I were going to stay until well into the night I'd take the 85mm lens assuming it's a fast f/1.8 lens.

Lens is not so critical as lighting and timing. Timing meaning try to make those photo walks during sunrise or sunset. You will have some great warm and glowing light to work with. Also be prepared to use flash if you are capturing ambient light and the subject of your choice.
