Whether anyone likes it or not, the jury rendered its verdict based on the evidence and testimony presented at trial. They did their job. It's not for any of us to second-guess their decision. JMHO.

Against, though I agree with JBIGELOW's comment. The jury has spoken in a fair and public trial. We need to leave this behind us except for lessons that might be learned.

All Zimmerman had to do was follow instructions and the Neighborhood Watch guidelines and not confront Martin. The police would have arrived and would have done what they were trained to do so this homicide would not have happened. The prosecution was not competent. I would have found Zimmerman guilty of voluntary manslaughter. This reminds me of the O.J. Simpson travesty, although the O.J. crime was far more heinous. Our closest friend is a San Diego P.D. cop, and this is exactly how she feels.

I believe what the jury found to be in the facts presented to them to be the just verdict. From what I have read, allot for the facts were twisted to fit the prosecutions case prior to trail.

Hello. I was under the impression that this program is about photography then why are we talking about the trial. The jury made their decision and that was their job. It is not our job as citizens to second-guess their verdict. However we all should learn something from this and should not be discussed in this type of format.

Yes it was a tragedy for all sides can we all can live with this and hope that we will be better prepared for the future. Let's put this to rest thank you.

For one I was not there. The jury was told that if they thought Zimmerman feared for his life at the time he pulled the trigger, then he is innocent. I do believe he was fearing for his life when that young man was beating his a$$ for following him. Is it right? Who is to judge? Not me!

Agree. And the error started with a wrong state law that opens the door for unjustified homicide.

I guess you think no one should be able to defend themselves. The bad guys kill all the time and get away with it. Zimmerman did not run and hide like a criminal. The police did not have to spend thousands of dollars and man hours looking for him. Only the guilty run!!!!

Frankly,I am really tired of hearing, seeing, and thinking about this.
The trial would not have even made the news if it was not politically motivated.
We not to buy in to this kind thing and figure out as a people how to get past all the race baiting crap that is presented in the media.
Both of them made mistakes, and both of them could have walked away. Here in Chicago it happens much like this every day.
And it never makes the news.

Maybe because this is the General Chit Chat (non-photography talk) section? 8-)
