Here is a shot that I took at a thanksgiving party. I may add more later, still editing.

Nice lighting. Nice depth of field. Would love to see it in color.

Nice shot and it seems to glow just a little. Maybe it's just the day that glows in our hearts.

The b/w is a nice image but I like the color better. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

I love the first one so much that I couldn't imagine that a color shot could compare. However, the colors are so vibrant that I like the color shot best. Nicely done on both versions,

Thank you.

B&W conversion used to be my last ditch effort to save a terribly grainy image.

Now, I find that I enjoy them better. My conversion method of choice was simply desaturating the image. I have to admit that it was only weeks ago that I started using the channel mixer to do the job.

I have to agree with tilde. The b&w is my choice. I looked them both over several times and I think it has to do with how the candle flames look. At any rate it is a very nice photo.

With your permission... The B&W didn't hold my attention, while the full color was good, I thought that some of the colors were a little bright. I thought the real focus should be the warmth of the candles, and then the food. I did this real quick, putting your B&W over your color shot and erasing parts of the B&W, giving the candle flames the most color back.

The B&W seemed to have more impact and the background was less distracting. though the color shot made me hungry.
