Got this shot yesterday of the 3 juvenille anhingas sharing the sunshine on a branch. [ Thanks to Murex for helping to ID the picture correctly]

Bill, could all three of these be juveniles? The only anhingas I have ever seen are black. I have never seen a chick. No matter, I really like this shot of white birds framed in green.

I think you must be right. When we zoom in closer it appears all 3 have white down around the neck and have not yet developed feathers.
I pulled this description from Wikipedia....
The hatchling starts out bald but gains tan down within a few days of hatching. Within two weeks the tan down has been replaced by white down. Three weeks after hatching, the first juvenile feathers appear. Juveniles are mostly brown until first breeding after the second or third winter.
Nice catch! Now I can impress my wife with my newfound knowledge next time we see them.
