Does anyone know if the Minolta lenses will work on the T3i?
chris
from what I can find out, They will not. Its possible that you can use an adapter. I do know Lens that work on minolta will work on Sony cameras.
Thank you for your responce ! I was just going through my cabnet and saw my old camera and was wondering...I am getting the T3i for Christmas ans was hoping to save me some money on lenses...lol oh well....

Minolta lenses work on the Sony Alpha series cameras because Sony bought Minolta/Konica in 2006. No adapters of any kind are required. I have an Alpha 55 and the Minolta AF lenses work perfect on it. I understand the non-AF lenses work too. My Minolta zoom is a (d) lens so it sends distance information to the camera body and ultimately to a flash connected to the hot shoe.
The 16.2MP Alpha 55 is the Sony equivalent to the Canon T3i and in the same price range so you'll be very happy with it. Be sure to tell Santa about the brand change!

if you have more than a couple of Minola lenses, it may be worth your while to forget the cannon, and look at the sony's. why reinvent the wheel by having to buy new lenses?
