Too much sharpening???

Even though I ask for input, these always get moved. I have had Nik software for a long time now, but I've only used Silver Efex Pro. I bought this program, then Google took over and offered the entire bundle for free to everyone who recently bought one of the programs. I've been watching tutorials and playing with the Sharpener programs (both Pre, and output). Please tell me how this looks (over sharpened or not) and, if you are familiar with the software, tips would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Can't really tell without seeing the "without".

I don't think it's too oversharpened, can't see any halo effect but perhaps do see a bit of noise. 8-)

Thank for the replies. This is a major crop, so I was concerned about noise.

The noise is not really over the top, maybe a slight de-noising would do it. My photos tend to be noisy at times due to using high ISO's. 8-)

By the way, it's a very nice capture.

Fantastic, , you might consider using the computer to make the white corner green.

Actually, it is slightly over sharpened. You can tell by the fact that there is noise that is introduced by the sharpening process. It is very evident on the wings. Not to worry. If you have a program such as Topaz DeNoise, it can be removed easily without disturbing the photo. This can also be done through lightroom. The trick is to not overdo the sharpening. A little less is better than too much.

I don't see any artifacts caused by excessive sharpening - I think it looks good - nice shot!!!

,

I don't think it is oversharpened, just my opinion of course, but the noise could well be caused by the aggressive crop, and anyway it's not objectionable at all.
Good picture.

I'm with Bmac on this. Sure you've sharpened it, but, not to the point that you've ruined the image. The noise factor is not a problem either.
The reality,in my opinion, is that you have improved the image.
This is a job well done.

Thank you all for the replies. I was concentrating so hard on the sharpening, that I did not even pay attention to the noise. I usually do some noise reduction on the RAW file while in LR4, but it never even crossed my mind. It is, as you've said, an aggresive crop. I would clone out the white towel in the corner if I would every post to my site, or whatever. I had put it over the majority of the feeder to force the little guy to just one hole. This angle has trees as the background, every other hole would have given me my neighbor's house.

Thanks again for the feed back.
