Never seen one before but I knew it was a humming bird moth but not the exact name, but all the images are great

Thanks to all who commented and looked. And a special thanks to DB for identifying this moth. I certainly appreciate your help and wisdom and for the link that you supplied. Again thanks to everyone. BB
Here's a few more photos I took at the same place as I photoed the moth.
What a spectacular series BB...loved them all...especially the last one!!!
Thanks again to all who view and or responded.
For those that like those small blue butterflies, here's a photo I quite liked with two of them on a wet rock.
Have a great day. Bill

Absolutely beautiful shots... may I ask what lens you were using? The detail is wonderful... always looking for advice on how to capture Nature at her best. Well done!
And ty Nikonian for clearing that up... I just identified the hummingbird moth, did not take the photos (although I wish I had they are so good)
Awesome shot!
Hi DB; I accredited Bill with naming the Moth when it was actually you. Sorry for that. Now can you identify this lovely blue and brown bf? I looked it up on google with no luck.
John
This is a great shot of the hummingbird moth. I have seen them up high in the American Basin flying right alongside the hummingbirds. Great photos, thanks for posting.
Great shot...I never saw a moth like that before. You learn something new every day. :D
So many of you seem to be taken with these little blue butterflies. In a photo its very hard to tell their size. But in real size some of these are not nearly as big as dime. Some are barely half the size of a dime. They are tiny little guys!
Again thanks to all for looking and liking. Bill
Fantastic work I too like the last one
