I see the OOB shots and wonder when I'll ever get good enough to catch up with them.

Luv OOBs. Good job. You'll find high resolution shots work the best for getting in close to the pixels around your subject. Ooops...ya cut off your son's ear. ;-)

Ya, those are the shots where I can't get enough definition to have the selection tool recognize the lines.

We just had a class on this using Corel Paint Shop Pro. I agree their is a learning curve but seems so simple in Corel. I zoomed in when cutting out the image. This made my lines much smoother around the image. I also used the pic tool checking the perspective aspect. The perspective tool is to correct with and is a pain to use. If you were using Corel this might help if not so be it.
My first try was ok but I know I can do better.
