Arbuckle Creek, Clouds and Water

Collecting photos of our local area for a virtual video a company is putting together. This major creek/Arbuckle creek/ runs between Lake Arbuckle and Lake Istokopoga. Much of the area is only accessible by boat or horse back, mostly wild cattle country. A must if you are ever up our way. Little know compared to the Fish Eating creek basin.

Way nice, guy. All good, but if I had to pick, number 4 speaks to me a bit more.

fstop22 they are amazing shots. To me they look like "gentle" HDR or at least a little "tone mapped" what ever you did you did it beautifully - including the original shot.

Great job! The sky is wonderful, it is hard to believe that there is no HDR going on here as the marsh is so strong and the sky is just wonderful...

Thanks Geff,
I use Spot metering exclusively for all my Landscapes. This is how I learned to control the end product/light. I normally have a grad ND on hand but it doesn't fit the wide angle 11-16 tokina. So I metered off the trees near the top where the sun was the hottest, or the cloud closes to the horizon, which balanced out these shots pretty good. The last shot was not so good as I metered off the clouds and had to bring the shadows up. If the sun is behind you it's a piece of cake, it's when it's directly overhead or beyond it get's a little tricky. I love Spot Metering and have grown very comfortable using it.
