The Boy Scout Merit badge.............Fishing.......and you had to catch a fish to get the merit badge. Braden satisfies this requirement!

The merit badge is/was the goal. But the boy caught his FIRST fish. I can feel how proud he is, feel how thrilled he is.

I did it:!: (he thinks)

I presume you mean my catch of this cool photo of him. I do like the photo, that's why I posted it. It tells a story and I like the lighting on his face.
NOW...........for extra bonus points..............what kind of fish is it??? And YES, I do know what kind it is.

I just have one question........HOW did you know that the fish was his very first one? I have another photo that proves you are right, but I'm just curious how you knew?!?!?!?!

Cockney, with an avatar like yours I would suspect that you would know what kind of fish it was..........NO, it's not a freshwater bream! You could look it up online if you are interested. HInt: It's a common fish that people eat.

Now I'm intrigued Brent, not many freshwater fish eaten here, mainly trout and salmon. The eyes look wrong but a small carp maybe? Either way a great photo of a very happy boy. It's a rite of passage, your first fish.

I haven't fished in decades but I will guess a Rock Perch? Cool shot, too, Brent. ;-)

No, it's not a small carp, trout or salmon. Hint: You can often order this fish in a restuarant.

NO Photog8, it's not a rock perch.
Thanks for liking the photo though! I wish all of my photos from the campout turned out as good as this one.
