Saw the babies again yesterday! Went to Lake Tohopekaliga in Kissimmee today to shoot Snail Kites. Saw one and she got pretty close. Fun days!

SOOOOOOO Gorgeous. It seems miraculous that they grow to adulthood when they look so fragile.

Thanks, Caro382. I think they have to be some of the cutest baby birds I have ever seen!

We have birds called swamp hens which have brilliant blue feathers. Their babies are black balls of fluff with riduculously huge feet but don't have a good enough lens to get a photo of them. Maybe you can google Pukeko chicks.
Fantastic, Georgia. I've never photographed a Snail Kite but would like to. Have you ever been to Joe Overstreet?

Thanks, Joe. Yes, I have been there. Saw Bald Eagles and Caracaras there. Also a lot of Eastern Meadowlarks and American Kestrels, but never a Snail Kite. My friend that was out on the boat with me today said the Snail Kites are usually all over out at Lake Toho. We saw the one that got close. He says that it's really active in April or May so will definitely take the boat back out then. I think you can access that lake at Joe Overstreet; we put in at the Kissimmee ramp.

Beautiful series Georgia. Those chicks are comical but adorable, and you've captured them well.
