Orb Weaver with June Bug

This Orb Weaver is weaving her web nightly by a solar light in my patio potted flowers. She caught a big dinner last night and I found it this morning. Did not use extension tube(s) on these, just the 100mm 2.8L IS macro lens with 480EXII flash set at 1/4 power and my homemade diffuser.

I bet that beetle won't make the same mistake again!

I cannot make an ID from lateral nor ventral views. Do you have a spider dorsal view?

Same spider as the one from a day or two ago. Not a full view, but maybe enough. (?) A little dark but shows more detail without blown-out highlights.

Thanks Tom. She was certainly proud of it. Guarded it all day, but was gone by nightfall.
