This isn't meant as a political indictment, just an amusing observation. I just got a letter from one of my state reps in Washington. It was dated July 2, 2013. Today is July 11, 2013. Just sayin'. :D

Dated does not mean it was "posted" on that date, just that it was written on that date. What was the date of the postmark??

It was written on that date - no postmark and no stamps. They don't have to pay postage. Politicians can send mail for free. It's good the Postal Service is swimming in excess money, or sending millions of pieces of mail for free every year could cause financial problems for them.
If someone writes a letter on the 3rd, and the recipient gets it on the 11th, efficiency is leaking out somewhere.

Political Efficiency ... isn't that similar to Military Intelligence? Both Oxymorons.

You betcha'
I think the term we're more familiar with is "political expediency."
On July 3, the same day that letter was dated, I ordered an item from Amazon, and it had to come from England. I received it today, just two days after the letter from Washington, DC.
Sounds like you are a fan of Murphy Brown.
