A new Fawn for the neighborhood and I mean new.
A neighbor called me at 6:38 this morning and asked if I wanted to take some pictures of a small fawn in her backyard. I was there within 5 minuets and proceeded to take pictures keeping my distance with a telephoto lens. I didn't want to stress the poor little thing. I hope you enjoy as much as I did taking them. This one can't be more than a few days old maybe a week or so.
Do as I say not as I do, Mothers.
This is a young one as the others are tagging along with their moms already.
Used a telephoto 270mm not to get to close. Darn misquitos, one just above the right eye can be seen on the download.
Lovely close up. Poor baby doesn't know what to d without mom,so just wait and hope.

Love the shot. But shouldn't he be hidden in the woods or some brush? Do you think Mom's okay?

Lucky you, the last one is just precious. Hope mom comes soon.
The last shot is the keeper. Mom will find him.

That last shot is just stunning...I'm sure Mom will be back for it soon!
Thank you ncshutterbug, Mom came back at 7:30 and took the fawn back into the woods.

Thank you STVest, many times the does will put the fawns where they deem it is safe and go about her feeding and such. This neighbors backyard is a very safe place as mostly rabbits and small animals hang out there. Fawns are licked clean by the does to be sent free so predators can't smell them. Mom came back at 7:30 and took it back into the woods.

Yes I am lucky to have such a good neighbor to call that early in the morning for things such as this. She knows I get up early so the call was great to get. Mom came and got the fawn at 7:30.

Let us know if mom comes back.
Thank you Country's Mama, I figure if I didn't put the first photo in everyone would think I was right next to the fawn and I sure didn't want to invade it's comfort zone and scare it off and yes mom came back and got the fawn about 7:30.

Thank you Carolina Wings, mom came back probably after she made a trip from bedding the fawn and coming to the neighbors and my feed areas about an hour later.

jerry41, yes mom came back at 7:30 and took the fawn back into the woods. I will bet she will leave her there again as this persons backyard it s very safe place to be. Her next door neighbors have deer all the time as they are not fenced in. I would have them in our backyard if ours wasn't fenced, but the wife wouldn't like them eating the flowers.

just awesome, the last one is one that gets the lump in the throat going. Must have been a rush to get that close.
Don 71 I stayed about 20 yards away as to not stress the fawn. I am guessing it to be about 1 week old. Another neighbor said it was very wobbly Wednesday when they saw it. To bad the baby rabbits weren't there for a bambi shot.
