Thanks VJs for your reply, i must admit that re to wildlife photography, i really think that its being at the right place at the right time ,is what gets a good shot, as a real newy to the game, i think that all the tech knowledge you have , it cant beat that bit of luck, mind you it sure can help.

Oh yes...luck is involved. There is a hawk that stays around my house and he teases me every afternoon. I can't quite get the shot yet but I will! We had a lightening storm here last night...it was in a distance so the skies were lighting up like the 4th of July. I just couldn't get the right settings for pictures. I gave it a good try though. I look forward to the day I will know just what to set my camera on and get all the great shots I see on the internet :) I am a newby too. Have a good day.

What beautiful birds! Blue eyes and blue feet! I know what you mean about the hawk. I've been chasing a pair for 2 weeks. Got lots of bad shots,but,like you, I'm determined to get them!
