Wanted to, but I solved the "problem" by posting the shot to one of my older topics, then providing the link to the person I was PM'ing.

Whoa guys. There is a way to attach a picture to a PM.

To the left of the text box, below the smilies you'll see the word link. Type in the url on both sides of the url thread with brackets as shown in the directions and your picture will be shown.

I admit it's not as easy as the normal way but it is doable.

I just tried to send a PM to Rex including a picture and all it showed was the url link and not the picture.
I've done it before and the picture was always displayed. Not this time. I'll try one to Linda.

I think you're "remembering" from a different forum :)

The brackets with url would only be used to direct someone to an online site.

The first PM you sent me included a link to a photo of yours on smugmug. The other PM's linked to error messages.

Not entirely correct Linda. Rex just got one in his PM.
The errors were because I deleted them.

OK, could be the browser. I'm using Google Chrome. Rex? (also, Joe, the photo you are "sending" is online at smugmug - it's not like you're attaching one from your computer as would to an email)

That could well be the problem, Linda but how do you explain Rex getting his? I sent him the same SmugMug picture.

Try sending me a picture, Linda using the [url] stuff next to the text box in the PM.
