Memory Card

It seems I tried to insert my memory card into the automated picture frame and it seemed to have bent one of the contacts. Can this be corrected in order for me to remove my pictures to my computer?

if you can flatten the contact out enough to insert it back into the picture frame then the frame socket may do the rest. Under no condition would I put it back into the camera until it works smoothly in the frame.

Once you manage to get your pictures off the damaged card, trash it!

Buy a new card as the old one will never be the same and memory is cheap. Do not risk messing up your camera memory socket.

I absolutely agree with authorizeduser, I wouldn't risk damaging my gear for the cost of a memory card. You can get some awesome deals on line right now! You should have a few of these anyway. These cards can have issues and if it's your only one then your SOL if it takes a dump and your traveling or taking important pictures.

Your right, if I can get my pictures off, the card is history. I hesitate to put it back into my camera, but I can use my card reader in the USB to transfer my pictures. If it messes that up, they are cheap, right? I will let you know if I get it straightened out enough to transfer it from the reader....Thanks

Oh my. Been there. Served as photographer for a niece's wedding. One of my cards was inserted into a TV slot (before the photos were uploaded to a computer) and a contact was bent. I appealed to a friend (computer geek and photographer) who was able to successfully recover my photos by pressing on the card in a card reader. I then pitched the card. Good luck!

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Haven't tried anything yet, but will soon....Don't really remember what all I have on the card, but I am one of those people that saves most everthing in the end....The
