thank you all. the settings as follows: Canon 5D Mark III, manual, ISO 100, f/16, Shutter 180, 5 gallon fish tank black background, slave flash on either end. Lens 24-70mm at 70mm and lots of LR5 clean up. Hope that helps

Oh, I forgot to mention that we did this as part of a meetup group at a Calumet store here in Fort Lauderdale, it was a great experience.

Schwabo, just food for thought( no pun), but you realize the pros don't work nearly as hard as you do. They hold the items there with wires or skewers. Then the bubbles are added with compressed air. Looks more real and dramatic. There are many tricks to simplify and control product photography.
Remember the marbles in the Campbell's soup!
Anyway, if your going to continue with it, research product photography or take a class at your local college.
By the way though, your pics are great. SS

Those are spectacular, especially considering you didn't do a lot of "fudging around" like was suggested. Real items, real bubbles, minimal additional lighting. I would absolutely love those peppers hanging in my kitchen!
