Let's keep it simple for now. They are all over exposed (correctable in photoshop). And of course, the house is way crooked also (again, easily corrected in photoshop.

I agree with the previous post. These shots, especially the second are overexposed. The first shot is not level. I have that problem often as well. One of the first things I look at when I process a photo is the horizon. It is an easy fix. I also set my viewfinder to show a grid pattern. This helps me line things up when I am shooting. Keep looking and posting. You will get much better soon if you practice. I learn something from this forum every day.

I am relatively new to the world of digital photography and used the camera on AUTO and I really do not feel that the 3 photos are over exposed--they were shot on a cloudy over cast day --I feel that they are not bad for someone just learning digital.
As far as the 3rd photo goes I posted the wrong one-the same house but a "lined up" photo is what I should have posted--which the owner was very pleased with when he saw it

Ha! you should have seen my first digital pics. They were that bad. You are just a hair overexposed. Nothing to fret about. Just wait until you blow some really good shots while shooting in manual. I do it all the time!

thank you for your advice--when using film I always shot in manual and rarely used a meter as a back up
and for someone who has only started to be that they use digital which is such a different format than film AND learning CS6 which has a really huge learning curve-so far I think that I have not done to bad

Nope. Not bad at all. When I started out I knew I needed pp software and I went out and got cs5 thinking that I might as well have as many guns at my disposal. I had no clue as how to use it. Between UHH and all the tutorials available, I have mastered quite a bit of it. I now have cs6. I have even tried free programs such as gimp and even some of the competition software that was bundled with other software that I have. Photoshop just seems to blow the others away. So, you have an advantage there also. Keep shooting and keep posting!
