Someone provided a link to the istock website. Just for kicks, I took a look at it.
istock is a stock agency to whom you send photos, they put the photos up on their site, and folks buy the rights to use the images.
When someone buys your image, iphoto sends you a check, minus their commission, of course.
What I found intriguing were their requirements for submissions. If your work is good enough to pass iphoto's scrutiny, you are doing it right. I would suggest taking a look at their requirements and training pages for ways to improve our photography.
