These photos were taken during Vacation Bible School. Please critique and can someone please explain how to change the background in your pictures and remove unwanted things. Thank you. Sharon

Cute pictures, very expressive. Looks like #3 is about is on the cusp of solving a world problem. The hat & kid thing hhas been going on for years - here is one of my sister from either 1951 or 2.

As to removing unwanted from background it may be a little hard to explain in this format. The basics is you need a program such as Photoshop. The two most common ways I know of is you clone over what you want to remove with something to add - for example a bird in the sky is to be removed; pick a spot of the sky >click on it > move to the bird > click again = bird now covered by the sky. The other way involves outlining what is to be removed by "selections" and putting something else it it's place. You can also use "Layers" which is more involved. There are books written on editing programs and their options. Thanks for sharing.

nonotBuddha, thankyou again for your comments. A better question might be. How did you learn to edit your photos? Hats have such character. I would imagine there is a story to tell about your sister's hat. And I noticed your photo, a musician with an accordian who will take donations for his talent. My husband and I have had the forturne to travel and enjoy street musicians. Thank you again for your suggestions.

How do I learn ? Mostly very slowly. The basics I have absorbed have been through an on line photography class, lots of books, viist several photo sharing sites, ask a lot of rather simple questions and a whole lot of trail and hitting myself in the head by trying to do what I have little idea of the hows wiith my camera and my photo editing software. The very little bit I do know only emphasizes to me how much I don't. Actually the pictures I often like the best are the ones that require very little or no editing - to me those best show what being a good photographer should be. I have added a recent one that has a very simple theme - mostly just lines, colors and textures; but yet to me it works. Enjoy the day & keep a snapping.

notnoBuddha, amen to that. No matter how much we learn, there will always be more. May we never stop learning. Beautiful lines in your photo. Thank you for sharing.

Yes...Sharon...agree with children...I got a "kick start" back into photography again with the birth of our granddaughters...they're a hoot and when they are in the mood, they are "hams". Thanks for sharing your photos.

Footshift, glad you were kick started back into photography. If you choose to share photos of your grandchildren that would be great.
