I tried very hard to get the focus right.
I am always amazed by many of the bug images on UHH so I made a feeble attempt today. I don't really know how one does gets those awesome shots, they would not be still long enough to even locate in the viewfinder.

Nice clearwing hawk moth. We do not have these in California.

great moment captures! And thanks to Nikonian72 for identifying the the clearwqing hawk moth. I had never seen one before and it is a beautiful creature.

Thank you! I had no idea what these were, but there are a bunch around the house. I wish I could have gotten their wings clearer.

Both excellent shots, and I think you achieved near perfect focus. I especially like that butterfly.
