Lightroom 5 Question

I'll apologize in advance for what is probably a dumb question. I'm new to Lightroom, but have been working with it since the LR5 Beta was released.

I work exclusively in RAW these days, but have thousands of JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files that I'm editing and organizing using LR5. After editing a photo in LR5 that is in a format other than JPEG I'd like to export it to my hard drive as a JPEG. I can find no export preference in LR5 that allows me to do that, so I've been taking the file to Photoshop after editing in LR and saving it to my hard drive as a JPEG. Can someone tell me, please, if I'm missing something, or is this (via Photoshop) the only way to export a file as a JPEG from LR to my hard drive. I'm aware of LR's export option to burn a JPEG to DVD/CD, but can't find anything that allows converting to a JPEG for export to a hard drive.

The Export to: at the top of the Export dialog box in Lightroom 5 is a drop down box, You should be able to click on the down arrow to the right of it and select Hard Drive.

When you do an "export" to save a photo you get a box that pops up. At the very top you get a drop down menu that allows you to select hard drive. About 1/2 way down in that box you will see a drop down menu called "file settings". You can select jpg there along with a few other settings. After making your selections click on "export" at the very bottom of that box. Your exported photo, saved photo, will be in a jpg format.

Once you have made all your setting selections they will not change. Normally the only one I change is location depending on where I want to save a photo.

Thanks, Jim. Don't know why I didn't see that myself.

Don't forget to check the box to "add to this catalog", assuming you want LR to keep track of the photos.

You are welcome. It is easy to become overwhelmed and miss something when you are working with a new software program. It takes time to learn and sometimes it is so much easier to ask someone when it is something important to you. That's why we are here, to learn and to help others.
