And yes, a photographer has been hired. I don't want to sound insecure, but I just thought to be sure everything is covered, I'll take my d7000 with the 18-200 lens. My wife will take her d40 with her 18-270 Tamron. I think I'll let the grandson take the d5000 with the 18-55 and the granddaughter can use the d70 with the 28-85. Do you think I left anything out?

I'd leave them at home and just enjoy the event.

What is the matter with you????

Let the pros do their thing. You and your family should enjoy and participate in the event. You are the hosts of the event, not the photographers. Be with your guests and stay out of the pro's way!

Enjoy the moment

I guess you guys didn't see my tongue on my cheek. I probably will take my camera, because there is not a whole lot for the father of the bride to do, but we really are simply going to let the REAL photographer do her job. Its a great day, I will enjoy it, and I will be glad when its over. When I posted this, it was as a spoof on myself.

You forgot the strob kit with slaves, tripods, additional lenses, second camera for everybody in case one goes on the fritz, extra batteries, the list goes on and on and I am sure you write in jest!

Congratulations on the event and have fun!

I'm sure glad you posted this follow-up. I was just about to say it looks like all you are doing is bragging about the equipment you have. Now I see it is just a spoof.

I agree with the others, enjoy the day. By all means take your camera, but, if you don't take a single shot, who cares. That is not what you are there for.

Will taking pictures be enjoyable, or will it be a chore? How will you feel after the wedding if you don't take any pictures? If I were going to a friend or relative's wedding, I would enjoy taking pictures. But that's just me.
