I use Google Calendar to keep track of appointments. When I enter an event on my computer, I can access the calendar from another computer. I can even access it from the Apple calendar on my iPad and the calendar on my Droid phone. So, why can't I access it on my iMac? It has the same calendar that's on the iPad, but no events show up. The iMac has CalDAV, whatever that is. I have a choice of Home and Work, and both are checked. I didn't see any choices that would let me access the info on the iMac.
I have similar problems with my Macbook Pro. It appears that you have to sign up for MobileMe (a paid service) in order for the computer to participate. I have not done that.

Unacceptable! I want a free solution! If the iPad can accept the data, the iMac should.

I us a paper Diary, no internet loss no battery problems, open a page and thee it is
Jerry- the iPhone and iPad are running IOS6, your computer is running OSX10..8- different operating systems. I believe you can get them all to talk to each other by registering for the free space on iCloud.
I am using iCloud on my Mac and it still does not sync the calendars. I have to enter info on my iPhone and then do a wired sync to get the Mac to see it.

I tried that, but didn't have much success with it. Where is it? Where's a pen? I like being able to check my schedule on computer, iPad, or phone. I tried writing on a wall or desk calendar, but it's always on the wall or desk, and the space is limited.
Speaking of paper, I always have a large spiral pad on my computer desk. I take notes from the computer, write phone numbers, do calculations, take phone messages, etc. It comes in very handy for looking up something from the past. Anything important gets written into that notebook. I've been doing this for years. It wouldn't be as convenient as a regular calendar for keeping track of events.

I guess it's not something I'm doing wrong, then.

Jerry, I had calendar sync problems between iPad, iPhone, iMac and MacBook Pro Laptop. Finally gave up and called Apple. They got it all sorted out but it took a while

I don't know if it's worth time on the phone, but I'll keep it in mind.

Jerry, you need to clear your calendar of all appointments, and then they will all sync up. :-)
So what was your photography related question?

How can I keep all my professional photography appointments coordinated among my various electronic devices if one of them does not match up with the others? As I said a year ago, I plan to go professional (maybe tomorrow), and I'll need a good calendar system. I don't want to make the move until I have all the bits and pieces in place. I have all the DSLRs Nikon makes and a little over half their lenses. I figure if I get the rest of the lenses tomorrow, I'll be ready to turn pro. With good cameras and lenses you can shoot like a pro, right?
Will I need a flash?

And it's why I like writing them. Laughter is Nature's medicine.
