I have been bothered by dry eyes recently. Probably partly due to age and partly due to computer use. An assistant in my ophthalmologists (do you know how hard that word is to spell???) office recommended GenTeal Gel. I have been putting a drop of this into my eye every night and I have no dry eye the next day and do not have to use eye drops during the day. Hope it helps.

Never heard of that product over here Steve, but glad it works for you...It's a bit of a nuisance this ageing process!!!

Another product that was recommended was Refresh PM. This is an ointment but I preferred the gel, but I was told that both work equally well. Check with your Pharmacist to see if they carry either one. They are over the counter.
Will check these out for sure tomorrow I have it bad,Thanks.

A few years ago, my husband went through a period of painfully dry eyes. His eye doctor (notice I didn't want to think hard enough to spell that other word) recommended an OTC ointment that proved to be particularly expensive, especially when considering the ingredients. The ONLY ingredients were mineral oil and petroleum jelly. We bought those and mixed to a similar consistency as the eye ointment we had purchased. Of course with the petroleum jelly, both the store-bought and homemade applications really blurred his vision, but they worked equally well. Next visit, we told his doctor we were doing this -- he didn't see any problem with it. Of course, we were careful to be sanitary in the mixing and application.

Makes me wonder if KY Jelly would work, or WD40....that works for everything, and it's made out of fish oil.

I also have dry eyes at times. I use "Systane Ultra". It is also a gel in a 0.14 oz bottle. It works. I have never heard of GenTeal Gel but will look for it the next visit to the drug store.

I knew someone who tried KY Jelly. It worked pretty well but after a month or so he starting looking a little cockeyed.
You guys are hysterical!!
I wonder if the "dry eye" should maybe be called "Photoshop eye" from staring at the computer so much. If I'm not out shooting I'm working on the pics or reading UHH. I've been getting that dry eye too, but don't want to waste the KY jelly in case I need it for something else. :)
