I was asked by a client whom had saw me photographing what's left of autumn. She simply asked for a single leaf and a painted (like) background where all the colors mixed. This is what I have come up with but being the first time shooting for a client with no real guide lines, I'm not sure this is what she meant? I'm worried about showing her. She also wants to buy the (Raw). I'm really in need of the money for the Holiday's coming up and she was talking double digit grands so I really want to impress her.
Red is her favorite in autumn colors, but she also said I would need to name the photograph. I have never named a photograph. What would you name it? lol.

hummm???

She had also said keep it simple and clean (you choose the leaf.)

Beautiful! You filled all of her requests, IMHO! LOL!

How about "Autumn Bloodlines". Or maybe "Autumn Splendor"?

"Regal Russet"

Did she ask for the colors to be complimentary or similar in tone to the leaf? If so... you nailed it.

Although I understand your nervousness (who WOULDN'T be!?) asking her thoughts on this is really the only way to narrow down her specific desires, by giving you a jumping off place.

But as it is, (and IF I had that kind of money!) I'd be tickled to purchase this from you and display it prominently in my great-room. I LOVE the colors!

Please keep us updated on what happens!?

Nice background, focus, and colors. i wonder how it would look a little lighter and brighter. Also I would be tempted to leave just a little more space at the top and enough extra space on the bottom to convey the impression of a falling leaf. This looks rather stationary, but maybe that's what she wanted? You could offer her more than one version and ask her which was what she was looking for.

Nice, if she is paying a lot throw in bonus alternate print maybe it will lead to more business.

I would take a few different shots with different leaves and make proofs show your client. This will give you an idea if you are on the right track, as well as projecting a professional approach. Take what she has to say and then produce the final print. You will impress the client with clearly listening to what she wants. I do love your photo, the blemish on the leaf 3/4 of the way up on the left looks like an eye. I can't offer a suggestion on an apropriate title, as most of my titles are bad puns or smart aleky . Perhaps something like solitary, or to everything there is a season...
