Beautiful Photo. I have just sharpened the original. What do you think? Does it make any difference?

I'd leave it alone. Excellent contrast between bokeh and sharp-focused subject/foreground. Rule of thirds is in play here and serves the purpose well. A job well done, indeed! Thanks for sharing.
GOD Bless,

I agree with the "no extra cropping" as the branches provide a natural habitat for his perch! Well-captured!
I think we have just seen a perfect example of why you do NOT edit unless edits are asked for. Many times an edit is terrible...

I think you are very right
Nice shot. Right on re: rule of thirds. Be careful not to disrupt that with too much cropping. Red-tail hawks in flight are mother nature's way of telling us to stop trying to go her one better with F-14s, F-18s, etc.

My Mantra-get closer and crop tighter. Beautiful bird but gets lost in the tree and the sky on the right is distracting. Remember your feet are your most valuable tool. Most photographers forget to use them. I blame this on the increased use of the zoom lens.

Like it as is. You captured a little bit of a different expression on her face.

Awesome shot!I like the original best but would crop it vertically.

In this case I wouldn't use the word terrible. I'd say better, no, sharper yes. At the end of the day if you take someones artwork and rework it without asking your behavior was rude in the least.
Crop it to a vertical photo eliminating most of the sky on the right of the photo. Leave all to the left of the photo. Just my opinion.....good bird shot.
