Does anyone know or have used a Vivitar 5600 flash unit on a Canon 60d, I checked the flash voltage on the one I have and it is appx. 8.2. I have used it on my Fuji S602Z and have not had any ill effects. I just ordered a 60D and now trying to make up my mind on a flash unit for it. I have had this 5600 , it seems forever and it still works great. Hate to have to junk it along with my other film cameras, a Canon T90 and Canon AE1 programable. Thanks for any info.
don't be so hasty in tossing the film cameras. keep the one you like the best. sometimes film just works better.

When does film work better? I still have my Canon Elan 7e. Loved it-- had a hard time switching.
On the flash.. I saved my "older" flashes for slaves.. haven't tried them yet but, I don't think it can hurt to try :)
I like using film when shooting B&W at night without flash. I like the grain when I push TriX to 800 or more. I especially like the effects when shooting street scenes of people. I seem to be able to better get background motion while focusing and freezing my main subject. Also, I don't have to fiddle with menus. I just know film better in these situations. I shoot with a leica cl.
