I am a novice at this and would like to know what software people use to footnote their photos with their names? I can do this with my HP photo printer but that means I have to run every photo through it! Is there and easier way? I have a Canon EOS 60D that I have had for 2 weeks! Thank you!

I think you are talking about "watermarking". There's a lot of ways to do it, even specialized software that only do that.

Take a look at this: http://cameras.about.com/od/photoeditingtips/a/How-To-Watermark-Your-Photos.htm

I use LR4 to watermark on output to jpeg. It is easy to do and can be unelected if needed easily.

it is a watermark, Elements, Photoshop, OnOne, and many other photo editing programs have it. Otherwise, pencil or marking pen works too. ;-)

I used a sharpie and wrote my name on a white piece of paper then took a photo of that. I imported the image into my PP program and saved it as a brush. Then when I edit a photo, all I have to do is select the brush and set the size I want, and click.

This is actually a great, if not exactly elegant, alternative to 'regular' watermarking methods. Thank You!

Great idea, Raydance! I think I'll also tinker with the idea of creating a brush from scratch within GIMP. (You may be able to do it with other photo editors, too.)
