I have been taking pictures as an amateur for many years, but reading the information in these forums educates me more every day and has increased my desire to get out and take more shots!

Welcome to the site...your sentiments are exactly the same as mine. This forum makes me want to do better at what I am capturing with my camera. If you have the time, please download some of your images. We always like to see what others have done....
Glad You are inspired.......Welcome

Here are my first picture posts. Pic 1 is from the Bronx Botanical Garden. Pic 2 is off the Ocean Pkwy (Long Island, NY) and Pic 3 is from Caleb State Park, also Long Island. Feel free to comment and critique.

Ooops, Pic 1 is the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Sorry :-P
The 2nd shot brings back memories of when I worked in Garden City and lived in Holtsville. Whenever the Southern State was backed up, I'd take Ocean parkway home. Added about 10 miles to the trip but I was able to drive 65+ mph compared to 25 on the SS.
I like all 3 shots although I think the red is a little over saturated on the 1st shot(that might just be my monitor)
The 2nd shot has everything, boats, bridge(Robert Moses Causeway), clouds to fill the sky, even some reflection in the foreground water.
3rd shot, beautiful autumn scene, although I would probably tone down saturation a bit (but that's just me)

Thank you for the comments & advice. I am thinking that maybe all three are a bit underexposed.
