Need help with memory card

I uploaded my photos to my computer (no problem) , then put my Promaster SDHC memory card back in my camera and it read " no memory card" on my camera's monitor. Is there any hope for this memory card? Tried reformatting it with SDformatter, to no avail. This Promaster is abt. 2 yrs old with a lot of miles on it !!:|

If you put it back into computer and it reads the card, then It would suggest the camera is at fault. A while ago my card started playing up, so I gently cleaned the contacts and it did the trick..good luck.

Hopefully, you're trying to format your card IN THE CAMERA, not in your computer.

Tried to clean card contacts, but to no avail. I did notice scratches on the card leads.

Buy a new card, they are not expensive from a major brand Sandisk, Lexar, Delkin

Format the card with your computer and then see if the camera will recognize it. Of course, you must then format the card in the camera.

Most SD cards seem to have a lifetime warranty, so for the price of a stamp, you can probably get a new card.

You may have tried this but, did you make sure the "lock" tab is not set to lock?

Much thanks to all my fellow UHHer's for your kind assistance. The lock was off, formatted on computer and camera to no avail and look like I'm gonna have to send it off to Promaster. I have just purchased a new Sandisk Ultra memory card.

This happened to me as well. I simply took out the card and put it back in and the problem was gone:)

What about the card format? Older cameras can't read the newer cards.

No flame intended, but you only had one card?
Memory is cheap.
I wouldn't be caught dead without at least 3 cards [normally it's more like 10 of various sizes and speeds]
