Does anyone have any experience with this printer? I am looking for a printer to print my own photos. Any suggestions on other printers that produce good prints and are cost effective? Thanks for your suggestions and Happy Thanksgiving.
I have this printer and love it. Prints up to 13x19. I like the 8 individual ink wells, buy what you need when you need it. I got it for almost nothing when I got my 5D MarkII, so I may be a little biased, but it does work great. Be prepared to spend a little more if you want to print out exactly what you see on your monitor (do you have a photographic quality monitor)? You may need to get a calibration device to calibrate your monitor/printer so your on screen prints match your printers output. It's a big monster, takes up some space, heavy too. I think if you plug it in, and print your pictures straight out of camera, you would be satisfied with the results. So long as your not messing around with printer profiles and such without calibrating, you would be good to go. Bottom line,,,I think it's always cheaper at a lab to print, (no ink cost, paper or print head issues), but it is nice to be able to print some of my own stuff.

This Canon printer is a great printer yielding professional prints. It's large, and prints poster size prints, although I never tried that 8x10's are wonderful

I have this printer and use it for very small jobs one or two prints, when you start to do more than that it then becomes a very pricey option. Cheaper to have it done, have a Costco, it is worth it to have them do it. They actually have the same printer as many Pro Labs.
Thank you all for the great feedback and quick response. Not sure what I am going to do yet, but it is good to have the info. There is always something new to buy. :)
