I have used The smudge tool extensively in my computer painting to move a color around or take off a bump I don't want etc. Now it just wants to paint, adding on whatever color is in the foreground box. I have a paintbrush for that . I have tried restarting which seems to work for another problem, but not this. What else can I do?
when the smudge tool is selected....look up on the menu for that tool, and see if the checkbox for "finger painting" is checked. If so, it gives the smudge tool the use of the foreground color. Otherwise, it should only "move" existing colors like you are used to. Hope this is the trouble....Happy Holiday...
You are right. I always wondered what the finger painting box activated. I did try it the other day and did not uncheck. Since I did not figure out what it did I forgot about it.. Wow! They say you learn something new every day, and I guess my is starting right. With any of these programs, you can learn something new everyday, and there is still something to learn tomorrow.
thank you so much!!!!
actually....thank you....because I have been using Elements for a long time, and I didn't know the answer right away either. But sometimes a question can help us to learn the answer for both party's sake. Just like being invited to edit a photo, ....sometimes the challenge is more for my own learning experience, and if it works I might share the results. If I couldn't quite do what I envisioned, I might not share, but at least I learned something. So....thanks for helping me to learn about that checkbox, too....Happy Holiday...
