best way to get my niece to not make faces at me or do silly poses when she sees the camera is to bring out the bubbles :)

There a little over exposed. But grand kids are like photographing wild life, you take what you can get. Hey, you got some really nice shots that with a little touch of pp they will go from nice to 'hang it on the wall.' Especially the third one.

thank you .. I have just recently switched from auto to manual mode on my camera and just getting the hang of it .. she may not be the best subject to practice on because by the time I am ready to take the picture she is off onto something else.. but I figure if I can catch a few good ones of her I can get almost anything... haha :D

She's a cutie and the photos seem to capture the real "her". My only suggestion would be to loose the time/date stamp...it's just something that you'll have to crop or PP out later. Nice job. ;-)

Yeah, with all the bells and whistles on these cameras, I forget to set or turn things off all the time. Have fun shooting. ;-)

I think you did a great job. My shooting is primarily my grandchildren so I know what you mean about catching them. I leave my camera on program when I'm shooting on the fly. I then switch to aperture priority when they finally run out of gas. It allows me to open the lens wide and get a nice creamy out of focus background.

Bottom line is just put the camera wherever you're comfortable. There's no such thing as a bad shot when it's casual shots of people you love. Have fun.
