It's almost time for Nick Wallenda to attempt his tightrope walk across a section of the Grand Canyon. I think the distance is about 5 football fileds long.
It'll be on at 8 pm eastern time, on the Discovery channel.
Good luck Nick! May God be with you; and He will, no matter the outcome.
Wonder why they're letting Nick and they didn't Evil Knieval?
Maybe Wallenda's preparation is more conducive to success. But, there's always the unforeseen.
Nick is a believer in God, as he says in this interview before his event across Niagara Falls:
"The King of the Wire puts his faith in the King of Kings.
Just before Nik Wallenda steps onto the wire tonight in an attempt to become the first person to walk a tightrope across the mouth of the Horseshoe Falls, hell form a circle with a dozen close friends and members of his close-knit Christian family and theyll say a prayer to Jesus Christ.
The cross Wallenda wears around his neck every time he walks on a wire isnt just a fashion statement, its a message about the religious beliefs the American performer holds close to his heart.
I grew up in a born-again Christian family. A Bible-believing, God-fearing family. Thats the way I was raised and I find comfort and peace in that, he said."

Wow! What a man!
Not just to think about doing something this dangerous, but to actually do it.
What if he sneezes or coughs? Or gets the hiccups?
WAY TO GO NICK!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Thanks to Discovery Channel for the broadcast. It was very well done. The photography and videos were great!
Now to their next program, 2 naked strangers trying to survive in the wilderness. What a night!
At least Nick wore clothes.

The two points of attachment of the "rope" Wallenda is using are on private property...no government involvement here.
Realized that when I heard done on Navajo property.

That was really something to see! Especially him running the last 20 +/- feet.
All in all, last night was a good one foe excitement - Nick and the big moon both.
He is not actually going over the Grand Canyon. The canyon he is crossing is an offshoot canyon that is on Indian land and not part of the actual Grand Canyon Park. Still an unbelievable feat.
