Love these... especially the second one. How does a 56mm extension tube affect the reach on the 105mm macro lens? Are extension tubes worth the money?
Handsome little dude.

i always use tubes, but i usually use them with my sigma 150mm macro because i get more reach than with 105.i even used 20mm tubes with my 50mm macro.so its sure worth it to me

My gosh, there's a 150mm macro? I didn't know this. Here we go again. My poor charge card.
I got the 105mm because of great advise here on UHH. Love it. Just bought a SB 700 speedlight and defuser. Now, maybe, some extentions... Where will all of this end. I have got to exercise some self control and try to live with what I have for a while.

You have just got the word.
UHH is a conspiracy of the camera manufacturing companies to sell more equipment. I am becoming convinced half of the members are camera sales managers. And they are good at their jobs. All I have to do is look at my credit card statement. I just bought a tripod and realize that a carbon fiber monopod is THE THING I can't live without.

It's ALWAYS about something that we can't live without. I believe you're right about a "conspiracy"... and I get sucked right into it all the time.

Extension tubes were actually designed to be used with macro lenses. Read more here:
